Poem : Unhinge Me

This is a phase all teenagers go through at some point in their life.
___________________________________________________________________________________
Unhinge me and let me go.

Why must I always cling,

Why must I

Always depend on you?

I want to fly

And explore the world

That lies beyond

What I circle about you.

A world that I can

Only see from afar,

But yet not be able to experience.

I want freedom, independence.

Unhinge me,

And let me soar.

Poem : Wronged

Like a blast of ice,

That freezes metal

And makes it so cold

That it nips on mere touch

Your eyes gaze upon me.

It’s not that hate fuels them

But it’s the love that pours so generously from them,

Or maybe it’s my guilt

That pricks me from within

Because I know that you love me

And you’ve been wronged.

Poem : The Leaves fall

One day i was going to my college and a downpour of leaves from the trees brought me this along with them.

The leaves that are dried up

Rustle and face

The ever blowing wind

And sooner or later

Give up and

Fall down.

The green leaves

The ones that are

Fresh and anew

Live and strong

Feel jealous of

The flowers that

Welcome thy beloved

And they too

Praise her

By falling down.

Leaves are

After all leaves

And leaves fall down

Poem : Throw a stone

This one came to me when i was skipping stones in puddle of water after rains

A Little boy throws

A stone in the lake

And causes ripples

On the tranquil surface

Or does the stone

Not plunge

But go

Skipping ahead to

The centre of the lake

And silently does drown

Into the very lake

It has now conquered.

Poem : I Seek

This was written few years ago on the occasion of friendship day.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
From the darkness that lies dormant within my heart,

To the holy light of friendship you spill upon my every part.

From the days of victory, success and joy,

To the ones of loss, distress, and being treated like a small boy.

I seek something desperately that I need to survive.

From all the highs, lows, ups & downs,

To all the other things too that didn’t count.

From all the things that felt as if it took days,

To all the time that disappeared in a haze.

Someone out there saw too it that what I seek , I do find.

To prevent my life from going into an uncontrolled trance,

To prevent my thoughts from being only stray bangs,

To prevent myself from being just another disposable freak,

A balance in my life is what is what is seek.

Thank you oh dear friend for helping me find how much ever of what is still do seek!

Poem : The Chains

Many people curse

The chains that

Bind prisoners

For it is these chains

That stand

In the way

Of his escape.

Chains that weigh

Upon the conscience

Of those who have sinned

Chains that tarnish

The hands of

The beauty that tempts

But has some one

Thought of

The chains

That drag themselves

For having held

Those innocents

Whom it had to imprison

And suffer along

For being helpless

And have them be

Sinned upon.
